The Eco Jurisprudence Monitor is an academic project tracking ecocentric laws around the world—legislation that grants rights to rivers, forests, and ecosystems themselves. I had the pleasure of working with the team at the University of Oregon to create a visual identity and website that captures this unique intersection of law and nature. The logo represents the project's dual perspective: viewing nature through both political/legal and physical/ecological lenses. The visual identity uses soft cream and blue tones to evoke nature while signaling the energy of the rights-of-nature movement. I paired two typefaces—Herbik and Geist—to balance academic rigor with modern accessibility. For this project, I developed an illustration system using a glass lenticular effect applied to nature photography. This creates intentional distance that mirrors EJM's scientific purpose: the need to step back and observe how our relationship with the natural world is changing.
